1. Know what you want

Hi.
So, here we are again. You all and I embark on a journey of thoughts, words and actions, directed by a steady flow of information. It's not like only I will be the one to express myself. You all must consider me like a friend, a companion, who's always ready to talk with you, discuss things with you. You must ideally forget that I'm anyone and my achievements.. after all, I'm just a friend trying to share some information, isn't it? Be comfortable, be yourself! Hey, keep this thing in your mind! :)

What did I just say? "be yourself", isn't it? Hey, that's what I'm going to tell you here! You read the heading...so, what did you think of it when you read it? It may sound a bit childish, but many young guns fail to realize this point. And when I say many, I mean it. I'm not insulting anyone... Almost all of us are uncertain about our future at this age, when we are in middle school. And this is probably not the best time to choose one's definite future (unless you are in 9th grade or above). What I'm saying is, just know what you want to achieve - have a goal, it may be very vague, but have one long term and a few short term goals. It's nice to decide upon a big long-term goal, then set up the steps that are required to achieve that goal, and then look for shorter goals and stepping stones to reach your destination.

For example, say, your goal is to become a mechanical engineer. When you have fixed it as your target, then look for the steps that you need to take in order to be where you want to be. If you think that passing out from IITs is what you really want in order to achieve that feat, then set it as a step for your ultimate target. Furthermore, set realistic short term goals for going through IITJEE, like, getting good ranks in competitive exams from a lower class itself, or, goals to prepare this much course in this much time, and others. This way, if you make a demanding, rewarding and realistic plan, it helps a lot as it keeps you motivated towards your target, and doesn't let you lose sight of your ultimate vision.

Keep in mind, right kind of planning is the first key towards success.
